I’ve been waiting years to go to Clos Maggiore. It’s one of those special occasion restaurants that’s been on my bucket list for a while, albeit at the very bottom, simply because it is so notoriously difficult to book a table.
I love emojis. At my last birthday party, emojis were a big feature (including emoji cushions that I received from a friend who knows me too well) – so when I heard that an emoji menu had landed in London, I had to go see for myself.
Dinner: the main meal of the day, taken either around midday or in the evening. A formal evening meal, typically one in honour of a person or an event.
We were looking for a reason to splash out at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. It’s expensive by my standards, located in swanky Knightsbridge, but not over-priced, and one thousand times worth it. Especially because we did have an event to celebrate – our two-year anniversary!
Barrafina has long been one of my favourite tapas restaurants in London, but Ember Yard is now on a par.
Great location, chic vibes, attentive staff, Art Deco interiors – it ticks all the boxes. As for the food (the emphasis is on grilling and cooking over charcoal), it’s some of the best I’ve had in the Big Smoke!
Big shout out to the people who take real risks and follow their dreams. The people who we admire from afar and who see their goal right through to the end. Nadia, of My Secret Tea Room, is one such person.
Golden profiteroles, chorizo sausage rolls… This is an afternoon tea with a bit of a twist.
I love the concept of afternoon tea, but I have to say that traditional afternoon tea can sometimes be bland (who the eff invented cucumber sandwiches?) and a bit overpriced (or in the case of The Ritz’s £70 high tea, exorbitant).
When I first moved to London four years ago, Peckham wasn’t the place you’d take a date (no offence Peckham). It probably still isn’t on a lot of people’s radar for the best date spots but one of my favourite watering holes is in Peckham, right by the overground. Continue reading
Happy half birthday to me!! No? No one else celebrate their milestone half birthday?
Well I do and contrary to popular belief… IT IS A THING!!
Clapham High Street isn’t the first place I’d think of if someone told me to suggest a date place. The classic Nandos? Tuesday KFC deals? Bumping and grinding at Infernos? Swipe right…? I don’t think so.
On a warm, sunny day, swarms of Londoners descend upon Brighton, and I’m no exception. However, there’s more to Brighton than fish and chips on the beach, or a spin on the pier’s rides (though they are a pretty good reason to visit too). Here are my favourite picks.
